Today is a Mac OS X screensaver inspired by On Kawara’s Today Series—nearly 3,000 date paintings made over five decades, each a monochrome background with the current date inscribed on it in the language and calendrical conventions of wherever Kawara happened to be that day.
The screensaver displays today’s date in the same spirit. It can show the date, time, or day of the week, on a background colour of your choosing—or a random one.
